Jennie Joseph is a British-trained midwife and a women’s health advocate that moved to the United States in 1989 and began a journey which has culminated in the formation of an innovative maternal child healthcare system, The JJ Way®.
She is the founder, owner and Clinical Director of The Birth Place a free-standing birthing facility in Winter Garden, Florida and has operated her own non-profit corporation called Commonsense Childbirth Inc. since 1998 with a mission to ensure that ALL women have access to quality health care.
Due to the poor birth outcomes experienced by low income and uninsured women she has established outreach clinics for pregnant women who are most at risk for a low birth weight or premature baby.
Her ‘Easy Access’ Clinics offer quality maternity and gynecological care for all, regardless of their choice of delivery site or ability to pay and has successfully reduced perinatal disparities.
The National Perinatal Task Force is her most recent initiative and sets out to raise awareness, develop the workforce and eliminate racial disparities in maternal child health once and for all.
